AW20 Ripstop Gore-Tex Down Review

We got our hands on the new AW20 Ripstop Gore-Tex Down jacket, here's what we thought of it!

We have linked up with Luisaviaroma to bring you an in depth breakdown of the new Ripstop Gore-Tex Down jacket from Stone Island.

Exhibiting the black diamond label dedicated to breathable garments that live up to the Guaranteed to 'Keep You Dry' Gore-Tex promise.

The winter months are coming at us fast and this drop has been widely anticipated so we took the new Gore-Tex jacket on the road to test it out in the wild, read below to get the full breakdown.

-------------------------

Gore-Tex was invented way back in 1969 by Robert Gore and is a thermo-mechanically expanded material which allows the waterproof material to be breathable at the same time as keeping you dry! It's first use was with the Shadow Project range in AW08 for the original Stealth Jacket, which became notorious among collectors. Gore-Tex material has been used on multiple drops since but so far none have lived up to that first Shadow Project release.

This drop has changed that for sure. A beast of a winter jacket with Gore-Tex material to the outer and filled with premium down, it's perfect for the coming months as we go into winter. The Gore-Tex material has been updated slightly to utilize the Ripstop military tech Stone Island has been using on a lot of releases in recent seasons, adding strength & durability to an already high performance piece. The jacket comes in three colours. Mud, Black and the one we decided to review which is a bright Salmon Pink!

Safe to say it's a loud jacket but the details are what makes it a classic in our opinion. Featuring a multipocket field jacket design with three zip chest pockets and two large flap pockets to the lower front, you won't be running out of storage. Another very nice touch is the removable felt hood liner which features a Stone Island spell out logo and gives a nice contrast to the smooth Gore-Tex material found on the rest of the jacket. We managed to test it out in the unpredictable weather we've been getting in the UK recently with heavy rain then breaks of sun through the day and it performed very well.

-------------------------

This has to be our favorite jacket of the season! We can't recommend this release enough and it has certainly lived up to it's hype. If you want to cop one yourself then head over to Luisaviaroma and grab one before they sell out.
