SS20 Plated Reflective Dust Colour Review

Updated: May 10, 2020

We managed to get our mitts on the new Plated Reflective Dust Colour Finish Jacket, here's what we thought.

The good folk at Notre have sent us through the most sought after piece of this season for an in depth review! With much hype around this new reflective offering for the SS20 season we are here to give you an up-close look.

Made with a Nylon Tela base fabric plated with a water and wind resistant highly reflective resin substance containing thousands of glass microspheres.

The new summer season sees the Dust Colour Finish take center stage across most of the flagship releases. This new reflective jacket is no exception, keep reading to find out what we thought!

-------------------------

Reflective jackets have become synonymous with Stone Island as a brand, the first of which being Massimo Osti's 1992 Marina Reflective which blazed a trail that the brand has never looked back from. Taking the Plated Reflective material which was used on the much loved and fairly hard wearing SS17 drop and adding an amazing colouring process has got to be a winner surly. The Dust Colour Finish gives the material a darker uneven finish when in normal light only revealing glints of reflectivity as it moves, giving another dimension to the jacket that block colour pieces of the past just don't have.

The build of the garment is heavy in quality with metal buttons and poppers and a very sturdy feel to the material on this classic parka cut. The jacket features a really nicely designed overhood to keep the wind off your face and an adjustable double cuff with elasticated finish to the second undercuff. There is also a clever pocket design allowing you to use the double zip to either access the main two jacket pockets or your trouser pockets depending which way you zip it. The badge on the jacket also undergoes the same Dust Colour Finish as the garment to give the normally White and Black Special process badge a dark Grey makeover.

We loved getting our hands on this amazing piece of garment engineering and would firmly recommend grabbing one. Without doubt it is our pick of the bunch from the new SS20 range. You can grab yourself one by hitting up Notre Shop here while they last!
