Shadow Project 10th Anniversary Launch
Updated: May 10, 2020
Stone Island launched the new 10th Anniversary Shadow Project Scarabeo range this week at the London Flagship.
This week the Shadow Project 10th Anniversary range was launched with a series of installations at flagship stores around the world, kicked off with a private viewing at the London flagship on Wednesday.
“The installation has been conceived by artists Ken Tonio Yamamoto and Nina Heydorn to celebrate the Shadow Project Anniversary.”
We popped down to the London flagship this week to attend a private viewing of the new Shadow Project 10th Anniversary range. This included a meet and greet with Carlo Rivetti and the first look at an installation from artists Ken-Tonio Yamamoto and Nina Heydorn. The installation designed with Errolson Hugh features a sleek self-standing sculpture with a rotating polyhedral object hanging from the ceiling. Designed to show the raw features and shapes of the new Scarabeo Reflective range.
The AW18 season sees Shadow Project's 10th anniversary and a celebration of the relationship between Acronym designer Errolson Hugh and Stone Island. They have introduced their latest fabric concept Scarabeo Reflective. The iridescent reflective material is a single layer fabric which is windproof and water resistant. Made from printed glass bead reflective coating and with a unique pattern giving an amazing finish under direct light. The final result is a brilliant canvas of color and light contrasted with a petrol shimmer similar to the shell of a Scarab beetle and if you hadn't guessed it Scarabeo is the Italian translation of Scarab!
It's well worth a trip down to see it in person! The London installation is running until the 16th of October. Below is a list of the other locations where you can see it for yourself.
