Stone Island x Supreme SS19
Updated: May 10, 2020
Images of the new collab have dropped. We take a closer look at what's to come!
The ongoing collab between Supreme and Stone Island continues this SS19 season. Since the first drop in 2014 we have seen the brand and Supreme re-imagine classic designs and materials. This drop doesn't fail to disappoint with pieces in the classic Silk Light material, Brushed Cotton 2C Camo-OVD and a series of Dust Treatment sweats.
First off is the camo jacket, vest and pants made in Brushed Cotton 2C Camo-OVD with a printed camoflage motif and over-dyed, both jackets also feature a large embroidered back logo. Both of the main pieces are throwbacks to classic designs with the jacket featuring the infamous "Riot Jacket" sniper face mask from the AW05 Raso Floccato and the vest features an identical layout and pocket set up to the SS95 Formula Steel vest. Both pieces match perfectly with the classic style cargo pants with all pieces coming in black and sand colours.
The drop also features a new take on another classic material, Silk Light. More commonly known as the "Toffee Wrapper" which we first saw in AW92. This new take on the material is still called Silk Light but has been remade and modernized to be even lighter and more robust. It is made by applying a glossy polyurethane coating to a shimmering tela material. The drop features a jacket and matching pants! With the jacket featuring all the hallmarks of the original Silk Light including pocket placement, velvet collar and hem toggles being almost identical to the original. The matching pants are pretty standard in terms of design with the normal jogging bottom style coming with elasticated legs and 3 pocket design. The Silk Light drop comes in three colours black, turquoise and red!
As well as the main drops of jackets, vests and pants there are also a range of accessories and sweats dropping. The Brushed Cotton 2C Camo-OVD line features a shoulder bag and boonie hat to accompany the main drops perfectly. The Silk Light line features a range of 6 panel caps coming in matching colours to pair with the main pieces. The Dust Colour Treatment sweat line consists of a hoodie, fleece shorts and t-shirts which look nice but are very much overshadowed by the more stand out materials and pieces included in the drop.
Safe to say there is always some crazy hype around these drops! Keep an eye out online and in stores for the drop on 14th March at 11am if you want to cop something!!
